NORMN Hangers offer a wide range of hangers suitable for most garment types, but most importantly are one of the leading companies producing a sustainable alternative to plastic hangers at a similar price. Being made from paper based board, they allow for full surface, customised printing.
The challenge faced by NORMN is changing the mindset that hangers need to have a certain thickness, such as wooden or plastic hangers – both of which are terrible for the environment, space wasting and lack communication opportunities. We truly believe in this revolutionary product.
Since they set up in 2008, we’ve been on board to communicate this revolutionary product, displaying the facts in a cheerful way. Having produced their brand identity, we continue to provide promotional and marketing material whilst maintaining their online presence.
NORMN hangers are named after its Scottish inventor, Norman MacKenzie. The company was founded in 2010 by a trio of friends: Pieter Theron (South African/British), Majken Møller (Danish) and Norman. Between them they have a fine blend of economic, environmental, and product development skills.
The story starts on a summer night in London when three neighbours were sitting on the roof-top terrace of their building having a glass of wine together. A discussion about turning waste into a resource led to a full-blown business idea to develop a high volume product that in today’s day and age ought to be way more sustainable: clothes hangers.
The thinking was that hangers are widely used, but very few concern themselves with how they are made. Everyone has them, uses them and needs them, you could argue, on a daily basis. But today’s standard hangers are huge polluters. Insane figures, like more than six billion plastic hangers end up as landfill every year, convince you that an alternative is needed.
Not only are the fully printable hangers usable as portable billboards, they are also highly sustainable. NORMN Hangers are stackable and thus 3 times more space-efficient than other types of hangers when transported or stored. On top of that, the hangers create zero waste as they are 100% recyclable. They fit into any existing paper recycling scheme – just throw it in and it will be reused for something else.
